I draw cartoons and work in marketing. In 2002, I started lampooning business in a marketing cartoon called Brand Camp about life on the M&M bowl side of the focus group glass.
I learned to draw cartoons on the backs of Harvard Business School cases while a student there. I started Brand Camp a few years later by tacking the cartoons to the side of my cubicle at General Mills and emailing them to a handful of friends. I soon started getting emails from people in companies all over the world. Brand Camp has grown by word of mouth to reach thousands of marketers each week and appears regularly in blogs, web sites, and publications such as Brandweek, Market Leader, and the Asian Wall Street Journal. I also do quite a bit of speaking at campuses, conferences, and companies with my cartoons. When not cartooning, I'm Senior Marketing Director of Europe for method products, a challenger brand that is trying to exploit a lot of the stuff I lampoon in my cartoons. I previously managed marketing and new product development for Häagen-Dazs, Green Giant, Yoplait, and Cheerios while at Nestlé and General Mills. Before my brand life, I built web sites for an interactive agency called iXL, was a wine steward on a Wyoming dude ranch, and sold advertising for the first English language magazine in Prague. I currently live in Richmond-upon-Thames on the outskirts of London with my wife and two daughters. . |
